Mary Jo is a journalist and friend who covered the Central American wars with
 photojournalist (also a friend) Nancy McGirr (cover is her image).
This is her memoir related to her experiences with the Maya.  It's a great read.

The Beginning is Here 2013! -  by Jim Young (editor) a compilation of 13 essays -
 a good overview of the spiritual, astrological and archeological points of view.
